Experience

One clinician leads your care, from first consultation to final result.

Most implant clinics pass you from consultant to associate to technician, with no one owning the outcome. At FAME, one lead clinician stays responsible for your case from start to finish, supported by a team you'll come to know. Continuity of care changes outcomes.

Dr Ferhan Ahmed's dual medical and dental qualification (BDS · MFDS · MBChB) enables pre-surgical workup tests that most dental practices cannot carry out. This is not cosmetic preparation. It is clinical optimisation that reduces surgical risk and improves long-term success rates.

FAME is built to take on the cases other practices refer on. If you've been told your case is too difficult, or a previous implant has failed, this is where to begin.

Restoration & Review

The right implant for your situation.

Not every implant case is the same. The type recommended depends on how many teeth are missing, bone volume, your medical profile, and your goals.

Single Tooth Implant

A single titanium implant with a ceramic crown. The most common implant procedure, it replaces a missing tooth without affecting neighbouring teeth. No preparation of adjacent teeth required, unlike a bridge.

Best for: one missing tooth with adequate bone

Multiple Tooth Implants

Two or more implants used to support individual crowns or an implant-retained bridge. Preserves more bone than a conventional bridge and does not rely on adjacent teeth for support.

Best for: several missing teeth in one area

Full-Mouth Implants

A fixed, full arch of teeth supported by implants, sometimes called full-arch restoration. Eliminates the need for a removable denture. Where bone allows, a provisional bridge can often be fitted the same day as surgery.

Best for: full upper or lower arch replacement

Implants with Bone Grafting

Where bone volume is insufficient for direct implant placement, grafting rebuilds the foundation first. Dr Ferhan Ahmed's medical qualification allows him to plan and carry out grafting and implant placement with full clinical oversight.

Best for: bone loss due to extraction, injury, or previous implant failure

Implants Under IV Sedation

For patients with significant dental anxiety, IV sedation allows implant surgery to be completed in a deeply relaxed state. Available at FAME; not all implant practices offer sedation in-house.

Best for: anxious patients, complex or lengthy procedures

Implants for Complex Cases

Previous implant failures, compromised immune systems, diabetic patients, patients on anticoagulants. These are not automatic contraindications, but they require a clinician with the medical background to manage them properly.

Best for: medically complex patients turned away elsewhere

Implants versus the alternatives.

Bridges, dentures, and implants can all replace missing teeth. The differences matter more over time than they do on day one.

vs Dentures

Implants are fixed: they don't move, don't require adhesive, and don't need to be removed at night. They also prevent the bone loss that occurs beneath a denture over time, which progressively changes facial structure.

vs Bridges

A conventional bridge requires grinding down the teeth either side of the gap. Implants are self-supporting: adjacent teeth are left completely untouched. This matters significantly when those teeth are otherwise healthy.

Bone preservation

Bone loss begins immediately after a tooth is lost. An implant, like a natural tooth root, stimulates the bone and prevents resorption. Left untreated, bone loss limits future implant options.

Long-term cost

Implants have a higher upfront cost than bridges or dentures. Over 20 years, the calculus changes: bridges typically need replacement, dentures require regular adjustment, and the cost of bone loss management adds up. Implants, when placed correctly, rarely need revision.

What patients ask before committing.

How do I know if I need an implant?
The clearest indicator is a missing tooth, teeth, or a failing bridge. A consultation with Dr Ferhan Ahmed will determine whether implants are clinically appropriate, and present all alternatives, including those that don't involve surgery.
My case has been described as complex. Can FAME help?
Probably yes. Complex cases, including compromised bone, previous implant failure, or full-arch reconstruction, are where Dr Ferhan Ahmed's dual qualification makes the most difference. We encourage you to bring any previous imaging and reports to the first consultation.
What is pre-surgical medical optimisation?
A set of specific workup tests not commonly carried out in a dental practice, but standard in a medical one. Dr Ferhan Ahmed's MBChB allows him to order and interpret these. They reduce surgical risk and can identify contraindications before placement, not during.
How does your pricing compare to implant tourism?
We don't compete on price with overseas providers. We compete on continuity of care, clinical qualification, and long-term outcomes. The cost of revision surgery, which is common in patients treated abroad, often exceeds the original savings.
What happens at the first consultation?
A thorough clinical assessment, a review of any previous imaging or medical history, and an honest conversation about whether implants are the right option. You'll leave with a clear treatment plan and pricing, no pressure to decide on the day.
Do you accept dental insurance or offer payment plans?
We work with most major dental insurers and can discuss finance options at your consultation. Speak to our team beforehand, and we'll confirm what applies to your specific policy or circumstances.
What if I have a concern after treatment?
You'll have a direct line to the clinical team, not a call centre. Every patient is reviewed post-treatment, and we're reachable by phone during practice hours for anything that comes up in between.
