Designed around your face, and your bite.

Most cosmetic practices pass your case between coordinators, associates and outside labs, with no single clinician holding the whole picture. At FAME, Dr Tariq Bashir leads your smile design from first assessment to final result, working alongside a technical team you'll come to know. Continuity of judgement is what makes a cosmetic result look natural and last.

Every plan begins with diagnosis: how your teeth meet, how they've worn, what your enamel can take. Only then do we design. This order matters. It's the difference between a smile added on top and one built on a sound foundation. Wherever we can, we preserve your natural tooth structure rather than reduce it.

FAME succeeds with aesthetic work others find difficult: failing older restorations, uneven edges, heavy wear, or a previous cosmetic result that never quite looked right. If that's where you are, this is a good place to start.

Cosmetic Dental Specialist consultation, FAME Dentistry, Glasgow

What to expect, step by step.

From first assessment to the finished result, every stage is planned, and you see the smile before anything is made permanent.

01.

Assessment & design

High-resolution scans, photographs, and an honest look at your teeth, bite and face. Nothing is prepared or altered at this stage: it is diagnosis and planning only.

02.

A trial smile you can try on

Before anything permanent, we place a temporary, removable mock-up over your teeth. You can see the shape, check how it looks when you speak and smile in daylight, and change it before we commit to anything.

03.

Preparation & temporaries

Where a tooth needs preparing, we keep it minimal and within the enamel wherever possible. Precise impressions are taken, and you leave with natural-looking temporaries, never without a smile.

04.

Fitting & final checks

Your final ceramics are made by hand by master technicians, tried in for colour and fit, then bonded in place. We check how your teeth meet so the result is comfortable and built to last.

One approach doesn't suit every smile.

The right treatment depends on your teeth, your bite, your face, and what you actually want to change. These are the routes we take most often.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

Thin ceramic facings, bonded to the front of the tooth and hand-made to match the colour and character of natural teeth. Used to reshape, brighten or even out a smile while keeping as much of your own tooth as possible.

Best for: discolouration that whitening can't shift, worn or chipped edges, minor crowding, or reshaping.

Composite Bonding

Composite Bonding

Tooth-coloured resin, shaped and polished by hand in a single visit. Adds shape or closes small gaps without removing any healthy tooth.

Best for: small chips, minor gaps, or refining an edge, often the most conservative option.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening

Custom trays made to fit your teeth, used gently at home over a couple of weeks to lift staining without the sensitivity shop-bought kits often cause.

Best for: general dulling or staining with age, and as a first step before other cosmetic work, so everything is matched to a brighter shade.

Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

Discreet, removable aligners that move teeth into position over time. Often the quiet groundwork before cosmetic work: straightening first can mean less intervention later.

Best for: crowding, spacing or rotation, on their own or to set up a restorative result.

Smile Design (full case)

Smile Design (full case)

For a bigger change, the treatments above are planned together as a single design, so the result is balanced across the whole smile, not built tooth by tooth. This is where the diagnosis-first approach matters most.

Best for: several concerns at once or rebuilding a smile that's worn or ageing.

Our Philosophy

Smile design with a clinician, not a technician.

"The best cosmetic outcome is one you can't see has been done, because it looks exactly right for that face."

Dr Tariq Bashir's restorative background means cosmetic cases at FAME start with occlusion, proportion, and structural integrity, not with a shade guide. Aesthetics follow function, not the other way around.

We do not offer 'smile transformations' or 'Hollywood smiles'. If that's the language you've encountered elsewhere, we'd encourage you to consider whether a practice that uses it is the right one for a permanent change to your teeth.

The dentists other dentists trust with their own smiles.

FAME's cosmetic work is led by Dr Tariq Bashir, known across the profession for meticulous, minimally invasive care, and for a clinical-first approach that puts structural health before appearance.

Kois Center-trained: The first, and still the only, dentist in Scotland to complete the full programme in Seattle.
Clinical-first philosophy: Every case assessed structurally before any cosmetic work is considered.
One clinician, every stage. No handovers between consultation and treatment.
Complex cases welcome. Failed previous cosmetic work, or cases other practices won't take on.
NPS Rating 88/100.

What patients ask before going ahead.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?
It depends on your teeth, your bite and what you'd like to change. At your first appointment we assess everything properly and talk you through the options, from the lightest-touch bonding to a full smile design, with the pros and cons of each.
Will my teeth have to be shaved down?
Not heavily. We work as conservatively as possible: modern veneers need only minimal preparation, kept within the outer enamel, and some options such as bonding need none at all. Preserving your own teeth comes first.
How do you make sure it doesn't look fake?
Over-white, flat, all-the-same teeth are what make a smile look false. We work with master technicians who hand-build subtle texture and natural variation into every restoration, matched to your face and skin tone, so it looks like your teeth, at their best.
What if a restoration chips or needs attention later?
The ceramics we use are strong and long-lasting, but nothing is beyond wear. Minor chips or adjustments can usually be handled in a single visit, and we keep the records to match anything precisely.
What happens at the first consultation?
A full assessment with Dr Tariq Bashir, digital images, and an unhurried conversation about what's bothering you and what you'd like to change. You'll leave with a clear, itemised plan, and no pressure at all to go ahead on the day.
How much does it cost, and can it be spread out?
Cosmetic treatment can often be planned in stages, and we'll talk you through the costs, clearly itemised, at your consultation, so there are no surprises.
How do I look after the results?
We'll give you a simple home-care routine and see you for regular hygiene and bite checks, not as an upsell, but because looking after the work is what keeps it looking good for years.
